Hi friends!
\nYes, it\u2019s been a long time since I have blogged\u2026so sorry. I kinda took a break after the traumatic ordeal of my not successful transplant. Heck, I will admit I may have been a little depressed and didn\u2019t care much about my well being that I kinda stopped taking my meds a few weeks. Oh I got scolded all right from the Dr & nurses since I didn\u2019t really have accurate lab results. Now, I am back on track. Why do people keep asking me if I\u2019ve heard anything about a new donor? Seriously! I am NOT ready to go through that all over again anytime this year or for the next handful of months. I am still swollen & still endure pain around my incision about once a week- not to mention seeing my scar several times a day as a constant reminder. I\u2019m still recovering<\/p>\n
I continue to meet more people and again share my story with them. You really never know who\u2019s life you\u2019re going to touch\u2026
\nSo, I was at a holiday party this evening and about a couple hours later was keeping an eye out for an open seat. I grabbed it and began chatting with an older gentleman that was already sitting for awhile. I would maybe guess he was in his mid 70s- extremely stylish with his designer jeans, Houndstooth plaid sport coat, scarf\u2026I had to comment to him that he\u2019s got to be the most stylish man as mature as he is (I didn\u2019t want to say old). He was so debonair- almost like Hef. A little while later, another gentleman joined us. So, I had to speak up and let these two gentlemen know why I am sitting. I hate it that I tend to fall into the \u201cSr Senior Citizen\u201d category based on my CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease! Whenever I go to the dialysis clinic, there are always a couple Sr. Folks sitting in the lobby. Same thing, when I pop in the Nephrologist\u2019s office. They\u2019re always so shocked to see me there and have so much empathy because \u201ci\u2019m so young\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
Hoping I don\u2019t have too many invites to Professional holiday parties as my wardrobes extremely limited with formal attire actually fitting me. I have another party I\u2019m going to tomorrow night and have an idea what I would like to wear-I probably should try it on in advance since I what I chose this evening almost didn\u2019t work out. Oh this is so frustrating! On the other hand, somewhat grateful for the colder weather as I can wear layers and layers of clothes, hoping to disguise this belly I have. I always try to wear a belt or scarf, or carry my coat or purse in front of me\u2026<\/p>\n
Was given some raw chocolate to try for a week from a networking event today\u2026Nope, I did NOT ask the Dr\u2019s permission for this. Why should i? It\u2019s chocolate!
\nAlso met a great guy that started a new online fundraising company. Hoping to partner with him for my fundraising efforts in this next year!<\/p>\n
I had a BIG Toxin Moment today! I grabbed my coat and \u201cdiscovered my phone was gone\u201d. I truly thought someone had stolen my phone out of my coat pocket at a networking event today and was almost sick about it. A friend and former boss right away called my phone number hoping to reach \u201cthe suspect and had left a serious message that it was a medical emergency phone and there would be an award given for it\u2019s return. My friend was about to contact the police to have them track it, then send a blast email to everyone that attended the networking event notifying them. I am so blessed with great friends! I decided to check my car just in case in may have fallen out of my pocket, in between the seats\u2026To my surprise, it was sitting on my seat, in plain sight for anyone to steal it from my car! I went back to tell my friend the good news. Sometimes, I really wonder if it\u2019s truly the toxins or am I turning into a \u201cdumb blonde\u201d? Time will tell\u2026<\/p>\n
Speaking of car-its running good so far in this cold weather- love the powerful heat it has! Heck, I even get hot and turn it off!<\/p>\n
Well, I know I didn\u2019t write a whole lot\u2026I\u2019m kinda getting sleepy. Yay! I was stalling to stay awake to do my last dialysis exchange for the day.<\/p>\n
