Well, I had another great dialysis adventure over the weekend. I was celebrating a friend’s birthday- I brought my dialysis stuff with me. After listening to some Jazz, we went back to hang out at his place. I needed to figure out a way to warm up my solution. Another friend suggested the sauna. So, we turned on the sauna and I set my bag in there on one of the benches. After awhile, I checked it and thought maybe I should hold it over the coals to speed things up. I asked another friend to do this. After a little while, I checked on it and noticed that wasn’t helping too much either. So then another friend suggested we fill the sink up with hot water and soak it. What do you know? That worked out pretty well.
I am grateful that my friends care so much and are willing to help out in any way that can. They have learned a lot about what I am going through and see how the whole dialysis thing works. I continue to inspire them and it blesses me.
Tomorrow (actually today as I write this after midnight), I am meeting with the Transplant Team at KU Med. The team consists of The Transplant Coordinator, a Nephrologist, a Transplant Surgeon, a Social Worker, a Dietcian, and the Financial Coordinator. I get to be there all day! I just cannot wait. Now, I am being sarcastic. With that being said, I am going to attempt to get some sleep as I have to be there by 8 am. I am sure I will have plenty to write about afterwards…
