December 10, 2008 – The Diagnosis

Hello friends,

The specialist Dr. ( a nephrologist– specializes in kidneys, diabetes, hypertension…) had a cancellation Tuesday and was able to see me.  This is totally God and I am so grateful as I was scheduled for February 2.

I have some sort of kidney disease.  Not sure what and the level of it.  I have lost 40% of function in both kidneys.  I have protein spilling into my kidneys and blood in my urine.  They found these through my blood results and urinalysis– both of these have been abnormal. My x rays turned out fine because on the outside, things look “normal.”  They did a biopsy today– stuck a needle in my back and drew 3-4 samples of my kidney tissue to take a deeper look at things.  I should know results within 3 business days.  I have a follow up with the specialist on 12/17.  She will give me my prognosis and then be able to share the treatment plan.

In addition to all of this– work wants me to resign.  If I don’t resign, they will terminate me.  I am not resigning so that leaves the other.  It’s a blessing in disguise and I do need a change of environment.  It’s just not the best timing with the economic stuff.

Any good leads you have please let me know.  I am off work until Monday, 12/15/08 as I am resting up , yet using my vacation time (fun I know).  I am  interested in pursuing the banking industry- customer service/new accounts.  I do have about 4 leads with this and will actively pursue them in the next couple of days.

Also, with my resources of all the great people I have met through my current job of event planning and a former job with working for a chamber of commerce– I am using these folks too.  I am scared, yet excited about this new endeavor that God is taking me.  I have though about the flip side of the event/meeting planning as well.

I love you all dearly and I know this is all in God’s hands.  Thank you for the prayers.
