Hi friends, its been a few weeks since I have blogged. I was extremely busy preparing for an event at my church that took place from 12/6-12/13. It went very well.
I have also been juggling a few side jobs– babysitting little Nicholas a few times a week– he is talking more and more it’s so adorable! I have been assisting another gentleman with his business as he is going blind and cannot read his emails…he is a treasure and I have been “adopted” by him and several of his friends! I helped out a good friend by taking him to work and his boys to school when his car broke down the past week– I was kinda of turning back into a morning person for a few days…it was strange being awake at a ridiculous hour of 5:30 am. I have been helped in the past and I wanted to pay it forward by helping someone else. I am also slowly growing my fashion/image consulting business–tis the season for shopping! I love helping friends shop for their spouses, significant others, or family. If you don’t want to do your Christmas shopping, or you don’t have the time to, or simply hate shopping, please let me handle it for you! It keeps me busy and from sitting at home dwelling on my kidney stuff.
As you know, Nicholas’ mom, Kimberly hosted a Silpada Jewelry party for me last week…we had a good turnout despite freezing drizzle and snow- 12 people showed! I am still receiving orders after the fact and so so far have raised close to $400.00. I even had friends and family order that already have a Silpada rep. God is good!
I continue to meet some incredible people and share my faith– just last week, my good friend (who’s car broke down) invited me to a Christian activist group- I decided to check it out. Wow- very awesome! Turns out I was the inspiration of the group by being the first to bring up God, faith…the leader and his wife have strongly encouraged me to join. For those of you in the Kansas City Area, go to www.meetup.com/jessewoodrowkc. I hope you become part of this awesome group!
Now, for an update on my health status- i had labs done Monday this week and got the results today- my hemoglobin has dropped a little over 1%; this is NOT good. I now, have to get my epogen shot weekly– I was getting bi weekly or as needed. I have gotten better at eating more protein. I keep protein bars in my car. I guess it will take a little while for this to improve and show in my labs…I will certainly keep you posted..
Well, one year ago today (as its 12 am on 12/17/09), I was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy…it all still feels like a bad dream…. I look forward to another year from now, hopefully with a new kidney, or better yet, miraculously healed!
Happy Holidays to you and yours,
