As I briefly stated, I am still waiting to become active on the list. There seems to be some differing opinions between the hemotologist and the surgeon about starting me on blood thinners. They disagree on what kind of thinner I should be on; when I should start taking it, and how long I need to be on it. Who’s right? Some say the hemotologist because it’s his specialty. So, I remain on hold until they can come to an agreement. It may only be til Wed, (this week). I have to admit, I am not eager to start learning to give myself injections.
I told the boyfriend the other day that I don’t have time to have a kidney transplant this month! He looked at me as if I was crazy. I’m serious. i don’t have time. I have a lot going on in my personal life- some major changes and I have to plan a couple important events for people. The social worker understood when I told her this- she told me that if I was to become active and get a call for a kidney, I could decline it. I told her I’d have a lot of people upset and would lecture me. She reminded me that this is my life and I have to do what’s best for me. I have to be physically and mentally ready for this major surgery. If I’m not completely in that state of mind, then I should wait a little longer.
Got a shot of iron last week- hoping my energy level goes back up. I can’t really tell. I still seemed to be fatigued on a regular basis, especially after shopping for an hour.
My good friend, Angie made me some delicious cupcakes that had fondant kidneys on top for World Kidney Day last week (March 10). I suprised my Nephrologist’s office when I delivered dessert just after lunch. They had no idea it was World Kidney Day. I had the other batch delivered by Angie to the Dialyis Clinic. They too were surprised! If you are needing some yummy and healthy cupcakes, check out Anjicakes (anjicakes.com); tell Angie I sent you!
Still enjoying my bundle of joy, Chloe. She’s my cocker spaniel bichon mix puppy- approaching a year old in a couple months. She’s so funny- She entertains herself so easily! If I’m watching Wheel of Fortune, she’ll bark every time the letter lights up when someone guesses right. SHe thinks it’s the doorbell. She’s still a puppy- gets into things when she’s not getting attention. She managed to chew a chuck of electrical cord about 6″ or so from an ipod stero. Luckily, it was not plugged in. She bit off both ends. I put her in her kennel whenver I do dialysis as I have to close the bathroom door. She also puts herself in “time out.” Whenever, I say “no”, she’ll run into her kennel and stay ther awhile.
Well, it’s approaching midnight- time to do my last dialysis treatment of the day.
Until next time…
Thanks always for the loving enouraging support!
